5 Points to Do: July 9-11

Summer months is in total swing, with festivals and gatherings occurring all above the location. Below are just five of the factors to do this weekend:

Celebrate blackberry harvest: McLoud’s annual Blackberry Pageant kicks off from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and proceeds Saturday at McLoud Veterans Memorial Park, situated at Sixth and Park. You will find more parking west of the park on Eighth Street. The competition will include sellers, stay audio, carnival, pony rides, cobbler taking in contest, food vehicles and a lot more. The McLoud Chamber of Commerce will have blackberry jam, pageant t-shirts, and clean blackberries available for $8 per quart. Many food items trucks will have blackberry merchandise on their menus, from blackberry lemonade and wines to blackberry cobblers, fried pies, funnel cakes and more. The festival will conclude with a fireworks exhibit at 10 p.m. Saturday.
