Stage Right presents M.A.S.H. stage show

Stage Right presents M.A.S.H. at The Crighton Theater, which continues its run June 16-20 at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Adult tickets are $30.

The stage performance follows surgeons Hawkeye and Duke in their adventures and coping with the conflict in Korea. The local production is directed by Meredith Ann Gains and includes many members of the original cast that were set to perform last year before the pandemic cancelled the production.

SOS celebrates 35 years of helping local people

The Society of Samaritans celebrates its 35th anniversary with the Contagious Grace Gala from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on June 18 at the Magnolia Event Center. Tickets are $50.

The event benefits The Society of Samaritans, a Magnolia-based group that provides food, clothing, utility and rent payments for local families and homeless people in the greater area.

Painting with a Twist offers family fun

Painting with a Twist in Cypress is offering a family fun night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on June 18. The event starts at $28 per person.

Families will follow instructions to paint a Kid’s Galaxy image on canvas, pallet or wood plank. Painters under the age of 6 must be painting with an adult. Masks are required.

Honky Tonk Chili Challenge returns to Tomball depot

Tomball presents the Honky Tonk Chili Challenge from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 19 at the Railroad Depot Plaza.

The event features classic country music and a CASI sanctioned chili cook-off with teams from around the state.

Chuck Wimer performs free show at The Barn

Texas singer-songwriter Chuck Wimer will perform at 8 p.m. on June 19 at The Barn at The Frio Grill in Cypress. Admission is free.

Wimer is a U.S. Army veteran who lives in San Antonio and has been performing music since the summer of 2019. The following year he released his first few singles and his latest is “Homerun,” released earlier this year. The song reached the number 25 spot on the Texas Country Music Chart and the number one spot on the Texas Internet Radio Chart.

Family fun day benefits local youth services

Milstead Automotive and Collision presents a Spring Fling Market on Rayford from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 19. Admission is free.

The Magnolia Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market meets again from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 20.

The local market meets every first, third and fifth Sunday of the month at the intersection of FM 1488 and 1774. Participating vendors offer an assortment of homegrown fruit, vegetables, crafts and retail goods.

Texas singer-songwriter Jack Ingram will perform at 8 p.m. on June 24 at 2920 Roadhouse in Hockley. Tickets start at $30.

Ingram spent a portion of the pandemic hanging out with his buddies Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall out in the Texas desert near Marfa. The three conspired to record songs they wrote together outdoors including “Tin Man,” a song Ingram has lead writing credits on.

The Spring Fire Department will offer free child car seat safety checks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 24 at Spring Fire Station 74. The safety checks are by appointment only.

Troubadour Gauthier performs at Main Street in Tomball

Singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier will perform at 8 p.m. on June 28 at Main Street Crossing in Tomball. Jaimee Harris opens. Tickets start at $22.

Last year, Gauthier released the single “Truckers and Troubadours,” a melodic tribute to rhymers and longhaulers. “Steering wheels, late nights and songs. Wake up in the morning; we’re gone.” It’s her first record since 2018’s critically acclaimed album “Rifles and Rosary Beads,” which she co-wrote with various American veterans.
