Helen Louise Wengreen

Helen Louise Mason Wengreen Cook was born on August 10, 1922, in Lava Very hot Springs, Idaho to Charles
“Jake” Mason and Etta Ann Avery Mason. She grew up on a tiny dairy farm and was shut to her sister Lois, and her brothers, Vern, Pete and Phil. Growing up all through the Fantastic Melancholy, instances were lean, but there was normally meals from the garden and the farm. Whilst attending a higher college basketball game in a close by city, she achieved Charles “Chuck” Wengreen. After Helen graduated from Lava Higher School, they married. When Chuck returned from the war, they lived on a small farm in close proximity to Lava Warm Springs, then moved into Lava Sizzling Springs and ran a cafe. The family moved to Pocatello, Idaho and experienced a content everyday living. Helen participated in a singing team and bowling league. The satisfied pair experienced four children: Sandra, Marcia, Brian and Scott.
Tragedy struck when Chuck was killed in an industrial incident in 1953. Helen went back to university, received a career and went on as a widow with four smaller youngsters. Helen achieved John Prepare dinner, a man who helped mend her coronary heart and generously fully commited to help elevate young children he did not father. They had been married on Oct 24, 1954.
The loved ones of six moved to Walla Walla exactly where John took an office environment job with the U.S. Military Corps of Engineers. Collectively they had a son, Mike. They elevated their relatives there, taking pleasure in a tranquil relatives daily life with traditions like selfmade milkshakes and barbecued hamburgers every Wednesday, popcorn every single Saturday evening, picnics and spouse and children gatherings. Mom labored at the Eastgate Region Retail store and grew to become a customer for the retail store, even going as significantly as New York on purchasing visits. Later on she labored as the principal’s secretary at Edison Elementary School, and later on at Prospect Level.
A person summer season, John and Helen vacationed at Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho and fell in enjoy with the spot. They acquired a piece of lake entrance home and started paying summers there, constructing their new residence though dwelling in an Airstream trailer. Around time they designed an astounding holiday desired destination for their escalating extended relatives. Absolutely everyone relished bonfires, swimming in the lake, boating, fishing and wild lifetime viewing. When John retired they moved to Lake Pend Oreille forever. Eventually, John and Helen moved again to Walla Walla exactly where Helen manufactured her house. She used her previous two yrs living less than the loving care of Maria Contreras and her family members until eventually her latest passing on June 11, 2021.
Helen enjoyed cooking, crocheting, examining, swimming, doing exercises, and getting with her numerous loved ones users. She and John relished RV excursions to the Oregon and California coasts, and manufactured outings all the way again to the East coast.
Helen was a wise, hardworking, good natured, and generous man or woman devoted to her family members.
She is preceded in loss of life by her mothers and fathers and siblings, both equally husbands, and her son, Scott Wengreen. She is survived by Sandra Wengreen, Marcia (Don) Brougham, Brian (Cathie) Wengreen, Mike (Renae) Prepare dinner, and quite a few grandchildren and terrific-grandchildren.
